Are you interested in a few WILDE! days updating your emergency care knowledge, skills and attitudes? If so, The CARE Course goes WILDE! might be exactly the right place for you.
Imagine the immersive, super-positive educational experience of The CARE Course with an extended curriculum to include remote outdoor settings: hiking in the back-country, paddling on a canoe trip, broken down on a mountain highway, or alone at an outpost. The CARE Course goes WILDE! will bring experienced rural physicians, nurses and pre-hospital providers together to live and learn for three fun-filled days. Up to 24 inter-professional participants will camp for three nights on a property just outside of Pemberton, 40 minutes north of Whistler. Bring your own tent / van / hammock, sleeping bag & outdoor gear (waterproofs, footwear, flashlight etc, small backpack, etc.) Healthy, hearty and wholesome food will be provided each day. (** This really is glamping as the course is fully catered indoors on the property. **)
This course offers all the usual content from The CARE Course (airway, trauma, cardiac, pediatric/neonatal and obstetrical emergency care - for the rural practitioner) plus doing some of those things in a 'wilderness' / outdoor setting... and includes some niche wilderness medicine topics.
[This is not a full 'wilderness medicine' course ... but much of it will be outside, on the hill and in the forest.]
Places are limited and shared across three professions - physicians, NP's / nurses and pre-hospital care providers ... so register soon!
Oh, and yes, and you could stay at the local Pemberton Valley Lodge (15 minutes drive away) but participants at the pilot of The CARE Course goes WILDE! raved about the camping part (it is glamping, really...!) so consider joining the camping crew and have a blast.
